Cy-Fair residents sued over deaths blamed on drag racing

A man is suing after his wife and two children were killed in an automobile accident.

Felix Nuno filed a lawsuit on Nov. 30 in the Harris County District Court against Christopher Yovino, Philip Yovino, Brett Taylor and Margaret Robinson, citing wrongful death.

Nuno says that on Sept. 27, 2010, his wife, Mayra Torres, along with her 6-year-old daughter, had gone to Jersey Village High School to pick up their 14-year-old son from band practice. According to the brief, Torres turned onto North Gessner from Brook River while defendants Christopher Yovino and Taylor were racing each other at speeds over 90 mph. Yovino slammed his Tahoe SUV into Torres's minivan, killing her and her son instantly. Her daughter died the next day in the hospital.

Nuno is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as court costs.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Ray Putney.
