Worker sues over forklift incident in Cy-Fair

Juan Lopez filed a lawsuit on Dec. 3 in the Harris County District Court against Action Handling Systems, Adobe Equipment and others, alleging negligence and gross negligence.

Lopez says that on Oct. 21, 2010, while working in a facility owned by Specialty Saw Cutting, located at 4660 Brittmoore Road, he was seriously injured when a forklift failed to hold a large pipe on its forks, causing the pipe to fall onto him. According to the brief, he suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.

Lopez is seeking an injunction to prohibit the defendants from selling the defective forklift before the trial, actual and exemplary damages, as well as court costs.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Juan Padilla.
