Cypress Creek grad completes naval basic training
Cypress Creek High School 2009 alumnus Stephen L. Campbell completed his U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.
During the eight-week program, Navy Seaman Recruit Campbell completed a variety of training, which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
He also took part in “Battle Stations,” considered to be the capstone event of boot camp, which is designed to give recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet.
Campbell is the son of Florydette L. McDowell of Houston and Steven G. Campbell of Houston.
