Woman sues over medical treatment in Cy-Fair
A woman is suing after she went into acute renal failure while in the hospital.
Tracey Flowers filed a lawsuit on Dec. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Marlon White M.D., Joseph Cornett M.D., Daniel Mao M.D., Glenn Davis M.D. and Neema Jones M.D., alleging negligence, medical malpractice and gross negligence.
Flowers says that in September of 2010, after undergoing surgery at Spring Creek Surgery Center, she was unable to urinate. She went to the emergency room at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. According to the brief, hospital staff inserted a catheter, administered the drug Toradol and performed fluid challenges, but because the fluid was not being eliminated, Flowers went into acute renal failure accompanied by pulmonary edema. Flowers states that the medical maltreatment almost killed her.
Flowers is seeking actual and special damages, as well as court costs.
She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney David Mestemaker.
