Cy-Fair ISD seeks committed volunteers
A local school district gives community members many opportunities to give back through volunteering.
Cypress-Fairbanks ISD has recently extended an invitation to members of the community to join its TAG (Targeting Achievement Globally) Team. This group of volunteers, recently named a Crystal Award Winner by the Texas Association of Partners in Education, partners with the district’s teachers to tutor students in science and math.
Adult members of the community who are willing to offer consistent support to teachers and students comprise the group.
To learn more about TAG, attend the informational meeting on Feb. 17, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center, 8877 Barker Cypress Road.
For more information, contact Yvonne Bukowski, ybukowski@yahoo.com or 281-304-0185, or the CFISD Partners in Education Office, Pamela.scott@cfisd.net or 281-894-3950.
Volunteers interested in the helping the Cy-Fair ISD in other ways are invited to join VIPS, Volunteers in Public Schools. Participants in VIPS donate their time supporting students and staff. A General VIPS meeting will take place on Feb. 10, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Berry Center.
