Brittany Adrian, a senior at Langham Creek High School, has earned the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve.

To earn the award, Girl Scout Ambassador Brittany Adrian designed and decorated an interactive newsroom for clients of Reach Unlimited, an organization providing lifelong education opportunities to people with learning disabilities.

"I learned how to become more organized, manage a project from start to finish, and decorating skills," says Adrian. "I love volunteering for Reach Unlimited, so I wanted to help them with whatever they needed."

Earning the Gold Award is a significant honor, with less than five percent of girls who join Girl Scouts earning this recognition.

Adrian spent eight weeks decorating the newsroom with a Texas theme to provide a background for filming the news. Center clients can use the newsroom to create news videos to broadcast to other clients.

As a member of Girl Scouts, Adrian enjoys working with and motivating younger troops. At Langham Creek High School, she is involved in National Honor Society, Special People Assisting Remarkable Kids, and Young Life. Following graduation, she hopes to attend a four-year university to study a health-related field.
