HS girls basketball: Cypress Woods defeats Jersey Village
Cypress Woods squeaked by Jersey Village 53-50 in District 17-5A high school girls basketball action on Friday.
A big 10-point first-quarter lead for Cypress Woods didn’t hold up as Jersey Village came storming back to take a 4-point lead into the fourth. But that’s when Cypress Woods recaptured the lead and held on for the win.
Cypress Woods is now 17-4 on the season and 4-1 in district play.
Jennifer Nash scored 23 points in the victory.
Cypress Woods will next visit Cypress Ridge on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
With the loss, Jersey Village falls to 11-12 and 2-4 in district play.
Senior Nicole Ancell scored 12 points for the losing team.
Jersey Village will next visit Langham Creek on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
