LSC-CyFair offers free Wednesday programs

The public is invited to enjoy free L.I.F.E. programs this February at LSC-CyFair, with topics including birds, cupcakes, portraits and forgotten presidents.

Lone Star College-CyFair's Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library, room 131, at 9191 Barker Cypress.

On Feb. 2, the program will be "Are You a Good Bird or a Bad Bird?" Learn from Professor Tim Sebesta about how invasive species cause problems with native species, and why some birds are revered and others are shunned.

"Cupcake Magic with Fondant" will be Feb. 9. Krissy Conn will demonstrate how to add a little pizzazz to your cupcakes, turning them into works of art with yummy fondant.

Professor Tony Kram will instruct attendees how to draw portraits at "Refine the Artist in You" on Feb. 16.

On Feb.23, the program "Hail to the Forgotten Chief" will uncover the truth about the presidents who were just plain lovable losers.

Call the library at 281-290-3214 for L.I.F.E. program information or visit lonestar.edu.
