Cypress Creek grad Danny Murphy nabs second place in 400 individual medley
Cy-Creek High School grad Danny Murphy had a good meet for the Missouri S&T swimming team, which won the Washington University Invitational by nearly 100 points over Lindenwood and four other teams.
Murphy finished second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:12.61.
At Cy-Creek, Murphy qualified for the Texas 5A state meet in the 500-yard freestyle and ended up ninth in the event with a time of 4:39.23. He also competed in the state meet as a junior in the 500-yard freestyle and placed 13th in that event.
Murphy is the son of James and Jane Murphy and is majoring in mechanical engineering.
