HS girls basketball preview: Cypress Woods vs. Cypress Lakes
District 17-5A rivals Cypress Woods and Cypress Lakes will battle in girls high school basketball action on Friday.
Cypress Woods is 18-4 on the season and 5-1 in district play. The Wildcats are coming off a 63-28 win over Cypress Ridge on Tuesday.
Senior Jennifer Nash is averaging 18.8 points per game to lead her team in scoring.
The Wildcats will next visit Cypress Ranch on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Cypress Lakes is 8-13 on the season and 1-4 in district play. The Spartans are coming off a 53-40 loss to Cypress Ranch on Tuesday.
Sophomore Jewel Angelo is leading her team in scoring with an average of 15.7 points per game.
The Spartans will next host Langham Creek on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Friday’s tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
