Cirque du Soleil's 'OVO' production extends Houston run
Cirque du Soleil recently announced that it has added 10 performances to the Houston engagement of its "OVO" show.
The additional performances of “OVO,” which will premier Thursday, March 10, will be from Tuesday, March 29, through Sunday, April 3. Performances are scheduled for Tuesdays through Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. There will be only an 8 p.m. performance on Friday, March 11, and Friday, March 18. There will be no performances on Mondays.
Performances of all shows will be held under the blue-and-yellow trademark Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) at Sam Houston Race Park, located at 7575 N. Sam Houston Parkway W.
Directed by Deborah Colker, the first female director at Cirque du Soleil, “OVO,” which means "egg" in Portuguese, explores a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.
