KTRK: Deputy injured in fight at Cypress Creek High
A Harris County deputy was injured Tuesday while breaking up a fight at
Cypress Creek High School, Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reports.
The incident happened around 9:20 a.m. at Cypress Creek High School. The Harris
County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said they were called out to a
disturbance at Cy-Creek where two students were involved in a fight that got
out of hand. Precinct 4 Chief Mark Herman characterized the fight as a 'mob'
and said the deputy got between the two students to break up the fight when
a third student jumped on the deputy's back.
Chief Herman said two students were arrested. Tevin Young, 17, has been
charged with resisting arrest and assault. Travis Smith, 19, has been
charged with interfering with the duties of a police officer.
KTRK adds that the injured deputy is reportedly back on duty already.
