Cy-Falls grad Devin Gibson continues to dominate for UTSA
Senior guard Devin Gibson, a Cy-Falls High School graduate, scored 24 points and UTSA survived a late rally by UT Arlington for a 70-62 victory Wednesday night.
Gibson registered his sixth 20-point game of the season and 21st of his career with 24, largely behind a 10-for-15 night at the free-throw line, to help the Roadrunners improve to 11-9 overall and move into first place in the Southland Conference West Division at 4-3.
The Houston native tied a season high with six steals, one shy of his career high, and added five rebounds and four assists.
At Cy-Falls, Gibson was District 17-5A MVP, averaging 12.5 points per game, six assists per game and four rebounds per game as a senior.
He leads UTSA in scoring at 15.8 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding, grabbing 5.4 boards per game.
