Cy-Fair company sues Memorial driver over abandoned vehicle
A Cy-Fair company is suing a Memorial driver after, it says, the driver parked and abandoned his vehicle in a traffic lane.
Hubco Inc. filed a lawsuit on Feb. 7 in the Harris County District Court against Daniel Vahnun, alleging negligence.
Hubco says that on Feb. 5, 2010, a Hubco employee was driving the company’s 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 truck while traveling east in the main lanes of IH-10 at Fry Road when the employee struck the rear of Vahnun’s vehicle. According to the brief, Vahnun illegally parked and abandoned his vehicle in a traffic lane without using emergency flashers, cones or flares to notify traffic that the car was parked in the roadway.
Hubco is seeking over $15,000 in damages and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Richardson attorney Jeffrey Cagle.
