Master plan meetings for Greens Bayou watershed to be held in area
Parks officials are currently charting the future of the Greens Bayou watershed, and they want residents of the Spring area to help.
Meetings will be held tonight and tomorrow to solicit ideas from residents of the watershed's West Reach, which includes Cy-Fair. The gatherings will be held by the Greens Bayou Corridor Coalition, a group that recently won a support grant from the National Park Service to develop a strategic plan for the area.
The goals of the plan include conserving the bayou's resources, creating new recreational opportunities, managing and improving landscaping, adding new trails and parks throughout the area, and designing all these projects so they are sustainable over the long term.
The public is invited to contribute ideas on everything from trail locations to potential restoration sites.
Two meetings will be held in the West Reach area. The first, on Feb. 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will take place at the City of Jersey Village Fire Station, 16501 Jersey Drive. The second meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Lone Star College - University Park at 20515 SH 249. Participants should gather in the Ontario Conference Room.
Those who would like to attend the meetings are asked to RSVP by calling Treena Dockery at 2810874-2146 or e-mailing tdockery@greenspoint.org.
