Car show returns to Towne Lake
The second annual Heritage at Towne Lake car show will be noon-5 p.m. Feb. 26 at The Heritage at Towne Lake Lodge on Toledo Bend Trails Drive off Greenhouse Road.
The rain date is Feb. 27.
Cars of all varieties - from American classics to "muscle" cars and foreign beauties - will line the Heritage Lodge parking lot.
More than 90 entries competed last year.
Joe Incognito, a Heritage at Towne Lake resident and event organizer, said this year's show has room for more cars.
The Car Show committee has put the word out to classic car clubs and communities throughout Houston to participate, he said.
The show entry fee is $20 for car owners. Each participant will get a plaque. Ten show plaques will be awarded to the top 10 cars, and a Best in Show plaque will be given.
The event is free to the public.
The event will include a food court, a Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department fire truck, face painting, balloons, a moonwalk and a disc jockey who will play oldies.
Funds raised through an hourly silent auction and baked goods sale will go toward the Heritage Adult Community Activity Center Fund.
Incognito said the car show is a natural fit for the Heritage community because many residents have had a lifelong interest in the restoration and upkeep of vintage cars.
The Heritage community has at least five classic car owners.
The event is a group effort planned by Heritage residents and supported by Caldwell Companies, Friendswood Development and Towne Lake's builders.
