Cy-Fair chamber names chairman
J. Mark Sappington, vice-president of Cobb, Fendley & Associates, a professional civil engineering and land surveying services firm, was elected chairman of the 14-member Cy-fair Houston Chamber of Commerce board.
Other individuals elected Jan. 27 to serve on the 2011 Board of Directors include:

At the Jan. 27 installation meeting, Mary Evans, chamber president, reviewed current the group's current undertakings, including the Project 290 social media campaigns that were recently launched on Facebook, www.facebook.com/txus290 and Twitter www.twitter.com/txus290.
In his remarks as the new chairman, Sappington announced that Evans was nominated by Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and was unanimously confirmed by Harris County Commissioners Court to be one of the new members of the board of directors of the Gulf Coast Rail District. The district board is responsible for providing guidance and direction for the implementation of a nine-county wide rail plan.
