Cy-Fair Dillard's named in slip and fall suit
An Estée Lauder employee is suing Dillard's after a recently waxed floor in the store allegedly caused her to slip and fall.
Jo Ann and Joe Manz filed a lawsuit on Feb. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Roger Evans and Dillard's Department Stores, alleging negligence.
Jo Ann Manz says that on May 16, 2010, she was injured at the Dillard’s in Willow Brook Mall while setting up a display for her employer, Estée Lauder. According to the brief, Jo Ann slipped and fell because defendant Evans had not taken any steps to warn her, or others, of the clear, wet wax he had placed on the floor.
Manz is seeking actual damages and court costs. Houston attorney Mark Carrigan is representing the couple in this case.
