LSC-Cy-Fair offering teen driver education courses
Lone Star College-Cy-Fair’s Teen Driver Education Program is currently accepting teens ages 15 to 17 for enrollment.
The course will cover road rules, road signs and laws to prepare the teens for the Department of Public Safety’s written exam. Other topics are car maintenance, effects of drugs and alcohol, laws and penalties for drinking and driving, emergency situations, basic driving procedures, road rage and insurance.
The class will offer 32 hours of in-classroom instruction and will prepare students who wish to get a Texas driver's permit. Parents are responsible for in-car instruction. Students are required to purchase the Texas Traffic Safety Education Student Manual, which is available at the campus bookstore.
Classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, from Tuesday, March 22, to Friday, April 15, and again on Tuesday, April 19, to Friday, May 13, at LSC-Cy-Fair, located at 9191 Barker Cypress. Those who are interested in attending should register in person in the Learning Commons.
