Camera catches Cypress bank robbery on tape
A surveillance camera captured the robbery of Capital One Bank at 20503 FM 529 near Cypress Springs High School.
Authorities are asking the public to help them identify a man who robbed a Cypress bank over the weekend and is suspected in several other bank heists in northwest Houston.
The latest robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Capital One Bank at 20503 FM 529 near Fry Road, in northwest Harris County.
The FBI reported that the man walked into the bank, pulled out a weapon and demanded money. A teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and then the man left the bank. He was seen leaving the area in a black Chrysler Apsen.
No injuries were reported.
The bank's surveillance camera recorded images of the man.
The man is in his 40s. He's about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 190 pounds and 210 pounds. He had black hair, was clean-shaven and had a round face. He wore a button-down, long-sleeved dress shirt, jeans, and a black hat. He also wore glasses.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the man's charging and arrest.
