Boy, 13, killed when pickup hits bike in west Harris Co.
A teenager was killed when he rode his bicycle into a street and was hit by pickup in west Harris County on Thursday night.
Giovanni Moreno, 13, died in the collision, which occurred in the 16700 block of Clay Road near Glennale about 7:20 p.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Moreno died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Deputies said Moreno was riding a bicycle when he rode through a ditch and into a lane of traffic on Clay Road. Then an eastbound truck hit him.
The pickup driver told investigators he slammed on his brakes when he saw the bicyclist in the road and swerved to miss him, but was unable to avoid hitting him.
No charges have been filed in the case.
