Cy-Fair woman accused of endangering 2-year-old

Harris County Constables arrested a Cypress woman Thursday who allegedly
tried to break her own car's window with her 2-year-old son inside.

Julissa Meza, 37, of the 14200 block of Bella Drive is charged with a
felony count of child endangerment.

Witnesses saw the suspect go into a food store in the 11000 block of
Huffmeister Drive and leave the child in the car with the motor running,
says Paul Staton, a Patrol Captain with Harris County Constable's Office,
Precinct 4. She came out with a six-pack and was already drinking it, Staton
says.

"Apparently she was fairly well intoxicated before she ever drank the beer
coming out of the store," Staton says.

Staton says Meza then found that the child had locked all the doors to the
car. She went to another nearby store, bought a pair of pliers, and "she's
hitting on the glass with the child standing in front of it," in an attempt
to break back into her own car, Staton says.

Online jail records show that Meza is being held on $2,000 bond as of Friday
morning.
