Cougars, Falcons seek early form

Cy Creek and Jersey Village missed the playoffs last year, and they'll look for early-season improvement against a challenging field at the 16-team Clear Creek ISD Baseball Tournament that runs this week at Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Lake and Clear Springs High Schools.

Jersey Village and Cy Creek are in Group A with the four Clear Creek ISD host schools, so the 17-5A members won't face each other in the championship contest, but one would love to gain momentum by playing in the tournament's final game.

Cy Creek opens tournament play at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Clear Springs, with Jersey Village playing it first game at the same time at Clear Lake.
