Cy-Springs alum Phillip McDonald helps New Mexico take down No.3 BYU
Cy-Springs High School graduate Phillip McDonald led the charge as New Mexico stunned No.3.BYU 82-64 Wednesday night.
McDonald, a junior guard, scored 26 points, dished out three assists, grabbed two rebounds, and tallied a steal in the victory.
McDonald was rated as one of the top players in the state of Texas playing at Cy-Springs in 2005-2008.
He was also a four-star recruit listed among the top-100 players in the country by Rivals.com and Scout.com, while also named the top shooting guard signee in the Mountain West Conference by Rivals.com.
McDonald was the district MVP and First Team All-state his senior season at Cy-Springs in 2007-2008.
He is the son of Bruce and Ann McDonald.
