Cy Creek and Tomball grads power Southwestern University to victory
Cy Creek High School graduate Kayla Irvin had a good day, going two-for-three at the plate in softball on Sunday. Southwestern defeated Hendrix College, 4-3.
Irvin played at Cy Creek from 2006-10, where she was a three-time All-District selection. She is the daughter of Fred and Mary Beth.
Tomball High School graduate Haley Hughes also had a good game, blasting a solo homer in the win. Hughes, a sophomore first baseman, went two-for-three on the day, with an RBI and a run scored.
At Tomball, Haley was a four year varsity softball player that racked up All-District honors in each year she played, earning a First Team All-District infielder nod her senior year. Haley was also academic All- District her senior year. Haley is the daughter of Robert and Tiana and is majoring in business at SU.
