Local HS grads send Dartmouth to 13-4 victory over UMBC
Dartmouth sent 17 men to the plate in the first inning, scoring 11 times, then cruised to a 13-4 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County in college baseball action on Monday.
Langham Creek High School graduate Jeff Onstott went two-for-four at the plate, driving in two runs and scoring one on his productive day.
Onstott lettered all four years at Langham Creek for Coach Armando SedeƱo. He served as team captain his senior year. Onstott was Second Team All-District as a junior, First Team as a senior, and also the baseball student-athlete of the year for the Greater Houston area.
Jeff is majoring in psychology. He is the son of Jim and Mary Onstott.
Houston Christian High School graduate Dustin Selzer scored two runs, going one-for-three at the plate and driving in a run.
Selzer earned three letters for coach Ron Mathis at Houston Christian. He led his team to a 5A District championship and a 35-10 record as a senior captain. Selzer was tabbed as the district and team MVP after his senior campaign, leading the Houston area in home runs. He helped his team to district championships as a sophomore and junior, plus a TAPPS 5A State Championship in that sophomore season.
Dustin is the son of Joel and Claudia. He is the self-proclaimed biggest fan of the Houston Texans.
