Cy-Fair HS alum Jonathan Ogden leads MSU past No. 21 Auburn
Cy-Fair High School graduate Jonathan Ogden helped Mississippi State defeat No. 21 Auburn in college baseball on Sunday, 5-0.
Ogden, a senior shortstop, had three hits in the victory. In the series, the Bulldogs hit .387 and were paced by a seven-for-twelve weekend by shortstop Ogden.
Ogden is fourth on the team in batting at .321, first in home runs with four and second in RBIs with 23 batted in.
Ogden was a two-year starting infielder at Cy-Fair High School. He Hit .351 as a senior, helping lead coach Woody Champagne's Bobcat baseball team to a 32-win season and a state championship in 2007. Ogden totaled 36 hits, including 19 doubles, two triples and 11 home runs, and registered 16 stolen bases in 19 attempts as a senior. He earned all-tournament team honors as a shortstop at the State Championship tournament and played summer league baseball for the Houston Sting, coached by Charlie Hayes.
Born Jonathan Thomas Ogden on July 15, 1988, Ogden is the son of Joanne and Steve Ogden and he is majoring in business administration.
