HS girls softball: Cy-Fair crushes Cypress Ridge
Cy-Fair powered its way to a 17-1 win over Cypress Ridge in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
"I'm proud of the girls for really taking care of their business against Cy-Ridge," said Cy-Fair Head Coach Debra Burrow. "It was a great win and truly a team effort."
Laura Driskell struck out six batters on her way to the win.
The win ups Cy-Fair to 15-8 overall and 10-0 in district play.
Cassandra Barefield homered in the win.
Cy-Fair will next host Cypress Lakes on Friday at noon.
The loss drops Cypress Ridge to 2-12 overall and 0-9 in district play.
Illyanna Perez took the loss.
Cypress Ridge will next visit Cypress Ranch on Friday at noon.
