Suit centers on Cy-Fair commercial property taxes
A real estate company in the Heights is suing a Spring resident after, it says, it overpaid taxes on a commercial property located in Cy-Fair.
Weingarten Realty Investors, of the Heights, filed a lawsuit on March 29 in the Harris County District Court against Andrew Schreer, of Spring, alleging breach of contract.
Weingarten says that on Jan. 29, 2010, it sold Schreer 19.5 acres of commercial property at the Steeplechase Shopping Center, 10865 Jones Road in Cy-Fair. Weingarten claims that during the closing, it inadvertently overpaid taxes on the property. According to the brief, Schreer breached the sale agreement by failing to reimburse Weingarten for the overpaid taxes.
The plaintiff is seeking a judgment for all amounts due, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Laura Coe.
