Cypress resident sued over eBay auction
A Cypress resident is being sued after selling a Ford Excursion through eBay.
Chris Butterfield filed a lawsuit on March 30 in the Harris County District Court against Cypress resident Jason Anawaty, doing business as Executive Auto Sales, alleging breach of contract.
Butterfield says that on March 31, he agreed to purchase, through eBay, Anawaty’s 2000 Ford Excursion, which had been described as “looks like brand new” and “this truck with a newly rebuilt transmission 50 miles ago.” Butterfield claims, however, that immediately after purchase, the vehicle broke down.
The mechanic who repaired the Excursion explained that the transmission had not been rebuilt; only patched, according to the brief.
Butterfield is seeking all damages to which he is entitled, attorney’s fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Brandon Mosley.
