Sports complex passes county food inspection; just one problem observed
The food preparation facilities at a local sport complex recently passed inspection by Harris County, though one problem was observed.
Willowbrook Sports Complex, located at 12539 Perry Road, received its regular visit from county inspectors on Jan. 26. The complex's food preparation received just four demerits out of a possible 100. A facility must earn 20 demerits to be considered "of concern" and in need of a follow-up visit.
According to the inspectors' report, the demerits were given for an "approved systems" violation, which could indicate improper time marking of food held over 24 hours or similar lapses in procedure. According to the Harris County website, this problem is not among the kinds of violations most associated with food-borne illness by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Willowbrook received the same number of demerits for the same violation in its September 2010 inspection.
