County inspectors give passing score to barbecue restaurant in Cy-Fair area
A barbecue restaurant in the Cy-Fair area recently passed its Harris County food safety inspection, though some problems were observed.
County inspectors paid their regular visit to Valley Ranch Grill & Barbeque, 22548 SH 249, on March 14. According to their official report, the restaurant was given seven demerits out of a possible 100. An establishment must receive 20 demerits to be automatically considered "of concern" and in need of a follow-up inspection.
Inspectors noted issues with Valley Ranch's water supply and dishwashing. However, neither problem was on the list of violations most associated with food-borne illness by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to the county website.
Valley Ranch received the same score in a July 2010 inspection and did somewhat better in November 2010, earning just three demerits.
