LSC-CyFair launches 'Shirts and Ties for Guys' donation effort

A Shirts and Ties for Guys program launched by Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) is currently underway.

LSC-CyFair’s Counseling, Career and Disability Services has partnered with the LSC-CyFair Branch Library to launch a two-fold program designed to supply prom and job interview-appropriate shirts and ties for young men in high school.

In addition, the program will supply job interview-appropriate shirts and ties for male college students and community members who use the college's career services.

“Since requests to replenish our Prom Closet for teen-age girls in need and the Dress For Success Houston suit drives for women have been so successful thanks to generous campus and community donors, we thought it was time to help another audience in need,” said Elise Sheppard, LSC-CyFair teen librarian.

Requested donations include long-sleeved white shirts or appropriate dress shirts for men that are ironed and on a hanger and men's ties that are stylish or vintage. Both shirts and ties should be clean, undamaged and without stains or holes.

Donations will be accepted year-round at the counseling desk in room 110 of the LSC-CyFair Branch Library, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.
