Cypress woman claims she was hurt during pedicure at Spring shop

A Cypress woman claims a Spring nail salon employee hurt her during a pedicure.

Maria Angelica Ramos filed the complaint March 31 in Harris County District Court against Doan Thanh Phuong and his salon, L.A. Nails Too. Ramos accuses Phuong’s employee of poking her with dirty nail tools.

Ramos says she was at L.A. Nails Too in Willowbrook Mall for a pedicure. Toward the end of the service, Ramos says the employee performing the pedicure poked her toe with a sharp object.

Ramos contends the salon employee acted “intentionally or recklessly by using dirty equipment in the process infecting” her. She calls the incident “extreme and outrageous.”

The Cypress woman accuses Phuong and his salon of negligence for hiring people with limited experience and failing to train and supervise those employees. She is asking for an unspecified amount of money for medical expenses, physical pain, impairment, loss of earnings and earning capacity along with mental anguish.

Attorney Jason Castaneda is representing Ramos. They demand a jury trial.
