A man involved in a two-car crash that killed one woman in northwest Houston early Sunday was arrested on drunken driving charges, authorities said.
Porfiro Cruz Almendarez, 27, is charged with driving while intoxicated, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said Almendarez was driving a green Mazda 626 and turning south onto Campbell Road around 2:15 a.m. when he allegedly failed to yield the right of way.
He then allegedly pulled in front of a black Mitsubishi Lancer traveling east on Clay Road that crashed into the Mazda, authorities said.
The woman driving the Mitsubishi died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released.
