HS girls softball: Jersey Village crushes Cypress Ranch
In a slugfest, Jersey Village topped Cypress Ranch 11-5 in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
“The girls stuck to the game plan all the way till the end,” said Jersey Village Head Coach Bruce Beets. “There was a certain way we wanted to hit the ball, and they all did it just as we practiced. Ranch is a very good team, but they did make some errors defensively and we were able to capitalize on the extra opportunities.”
The Falcons scored four runs in the third and never looked back.
The win ups Jersey Village to 13-10 overall and 8-4 in district play.
Jersey Village will next host Langham Creek on Friday at 6 p.m.
The loss drops Cypress Ranch to 11-9 overall and 9-3 in district play.
Nicole Wiganowski took the loss for the Mustangs.
Cypress Ranch will next visit Cypress Woods on Friday at noon.
