Cypress resident sued over Cy-Fair commercial lease

A landlord is suing over claims that a Cypress tenant breached a lease agreement for commercial property in Cy-Fair.

Beltway-Gessner Retail filed a lawsuit on April 7 in the Harris County District Court against Parmjit Bala, of Cypress, alleging breach of contract.

The plaintiff says that on Jan. 26, 2006, it leased the defendant 1,900 square feet of commercial space, located at Beltway-Gessner Strip Center at 8111 Sam Houston Tollway in Cy-Fair. According to the brief, the defendant breached this agreement by failing to pay monthly rent pursuant to the terms of the lease.

Beltway-Gessner is seeking damages in the amount of $78,665, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Steven Engelhardt.
