HS girls softball: Cy-Fair tops Cy Creek
Cy-Fair registered a 7-3 victory over Cy Creek in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Friday.
“We had a few mental mistakes,” said Cy-Fair Head Coach Debra Burrow, “but did well enough on offense to overcome them. Amanda Fulkerson, Cassandra Barefield, Ashley Leins, Paige Murray, Christa Hartnett, Jodi Ekster, and Jordan Rains all stepped up offensively to get us the victory.”
Pitcher Laura Driskill struck out 10 batters and picked up the win for her squad.
The win ups Cy-Fair to 18-8 overall and 13-0 in district play.
Jordan Rains went 3-4 and drove in two.
Cy-Fair will next host Cy Falls on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The loss drops Cy Creek to 8-10 overall and 7-6 in district play.
Baile Anderson took the loss for the Cougars.
Cy Creek will next host Cy Ranch on Tuesday at noon.
