HS girls softball: Jersey Village trounces Langham Creek

A big nine-run fourth inning helped Jersey Village power its way to a 14-1 victory over Langham Creek in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Friday.

“We gave up a run in the first inning,” said Jersey Village Head Coach Bruce Beets, but then allowed only one hit the rest of the game. I was proud of my girls for shutting them down. (RF) Kelsey McCabe’s perfect throw to end Langham's early rally really set the tone. We hit the ball well the whole game, and we were able to take advantage of their errors.”

Pitcher Megan Mobley picked up the win for the Falcons.

The win ups Jersey Village to 14-10 overall and 9-4 in district play.

Jersey Village will next visit Cy Ridge on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The loss drops Langham Creek to 4-15 overall and 2-10 in district play.

Jordyn Anders took the loss for the Lobos.

Langham Creek will next visit Cy Lakes on Tuesday at noon.
