Cy Ridge alum and former Michigan State pitcher leads Cameron University victory
Cameron University defeated East Central University, 15-4, in college baseball action on Saturday. A local high school alum was the winning pitcher.
Cy Ridge High School graduate Clay Vanderlaan moved to 2-1 allowing four earned runs and seven hits in earning the victory on the bump.
Vanderlaan spent time at Michigan State before transferring to Cameron.
One of the top rated high school pitchers out of Texas, VanderLaan had a very up and down year at Michigan State. However, from the folks who have seen him pitch more than once, there is clearly much to be excited about.
