Cy-Fair manufacturer sues Heights business over payments
A Cy-Fair company specializing in the manufacture of riser tensioner systems for offshore drilling is suing a business in the Heights over outstanding invoices.
Cy-Fair-area Drilling Technological Innovations filed a lawsuit on April 11 in the Harris County District Court against Bluewater Industries, of the Heights, alleging breach of contract.
DTI says that in the spring of 2008, it agreed to build Bluewater a riser tensioner system for $22 million for a maritime construction project. According to the brief, the project was put on hold, causing Bluewater to default on $2.4 million worth of payments.
Drilling Technological is seeking actual and special damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Justin Strother.
