HS girls softball: Cy-Fair clobbers Cy Falls
In an offensive explosion, Cy-Fair defeated Cy Falls 10-0 in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
“The girls did an awesome job,” said Cy-Fair Head Coach Debra Burrow. “The pitching was excellent and our defense remained strong.The victory last night gave us the district championship. We still have three games remaining and have reset our goals as a team.”
“Cy-Fair is a well-coached, well-rounded team,” said Cy-Falls Head Coach John Hughes. “They should do well in the playoffs.”
Laura Driskill struck out three on her way to picking up the win.
The win ups Cy-Fair to 19-8 overall and 14-0 in district play.
Cy-Fair will next visit Cy Ranch on Friday at noon.
The loss drops Cy Falls to 2-18 overall and 2-11 in district play.
Brianna Armstrong took the loss for the Eagles.
Cy Falls will next host Cy Lakes on Friday at 6 p.m.
