HS baseball: Langham Creek defeats Cy-Fair
Langham Creek defeated Cy-Fair in District 17-5A baseball action Tuesday.
The Lobos, 19-4-0 overall and 9-3-0 in district play, won the game, 11-1.
Carter Magnum and Hayden Jones hit home runs in the victory. Jones also struck out seven Bobcats in earning the win for the Lobos.
"I thought the guys did a great job," Langham Creek coach Armando Sedeno said. "We prepared for them pretty hard. We just really went back and focused on ourselves instead of focusing on them. We were trying to do too much, and that puts you in a funk."
"The pitching was outstanding," Sedeno said. "Hayden Jones pitched a tremendous game. That’s what he’s been doing. Even the game he lost against Cy Woods. He’s been doing his job."
Langham Creek will host Jersey Village on Friday at 7 p.m.
Tuesday’s loss drops Cy-Fair to 14-6-0 on the season and 9-2-0 in district games.
Luis Villarreal struck out two Lobos in taking the loss for the Bobcats, who will visit Cy Ranch on Friday at 7 p.m.
