Three local HS alums get it done for Sam Houston State
Three local high school graduates helped power Sam Houston past McNeese State, 11-5, in college baseball action on Sunday afternoon.
Cy Falls High School graduate Daniel Nottebart, a senior first baseman, went 1-for-4 and drove one run in.
Nottebart was a two-time All-District winner and the team MVP in 2007 at Cy Falls. He hit .463 with nine home runs as a senior to earn the 2007 district MVP honors.
The Woodlands High School graduate Ryan Mooney, a senior second baseman, went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored in the victory.
Mooney was an All-State and All-District infielder for The Woodlands. He hit .380, helping lead the squad to district titles in 2006 and 2007 and the state championship in 2006.
Pearland High School graduate Kevin Miller, a senior third baseman, went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in the win.
Miller was All-Greater Houston and All-District in both baseball and football at Pearland High School. The three-year starter in baseball was a Class 5A All-State honorable mention, All-Greater Houston and three-time All-District 22-5A wide receiver for coach Tony Heath in football.
