Three local HS alums rock the Southern Miss diamond

Three local high school graduate helped The Southern Miss softball team snap a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over Nicholls State on Wednesday.

Cy Springs High School graduate Taylor Brown went 1-for-4 with a run driven in.

Brown was a four-year letter winner at Cy Springs. She earned first team All-District honors four times and posted the highest batting average on her team over four seasons with the highest in the district at .580.

Leslie is the daughter of Darryl and Lisa Brown. Her major is education and sports coaching.

Lamar High School graduate Brittany Lilly went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the victory.

Lilly was a four-year letter winner at Lamar High School for Coach Melvin Jenkins, earning first team All-District honors four times. She batted over .400 as a senior and led the district with a .555 batting average as a freshman.

Brittany is the daughter of Will and Connie Lilly. Her major is accounting.

Memorial High School graduate Leslie LeJune went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.

LeJune was a three-year letter winner for Coach Tina Young at Memorial, batting .453 with 43 hits--including eight doubles, eight triples and a home run. She helped her team to two undefeated district championships and earned MVP honors.

Leslie is the daughter of Brian and Susan LeJune. Her major is kinesiotherapy.
