HS girls softball: Cypress Lakes defeats Cypress Woods
Cypress Lakes won the battle of the bats with an 8-6 win over Cypress Woods in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
"This was a game for the ages," said Cy-Lakes Coach Shauna Eller. "Both teams played exceptional and fought hard until the very last pitch."
Lauren Fairman registered the win for the Spartans.
The win ups Cypress Lakes to 19-10 overall and 12-4 in district play.
Cypress Lakes will next visit Cypress Ranch on Thursday at noon.
The loss drops Cypress Woods to 14-11 overall and 11-5 in district play.
Pitcher Ashley Abbott took the loss for the Wildcats.
Cypress Woods will next host Cypress Ridge on Thursday at noon.
