HS girls softball: Cy-Fair clobbers Jersey Village
Cy-Fair recorded a 9-2 win over Jersey Village in District 17-5A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
"What a great night it was for our girls," said Cy-Fair Head Coach Debra Burrow. "Once again, it was a true team effort with a mixture of base hits, long balls, pitching and defense."
Laura Driskill picked up the victory for the Bobcats.
The win ups Cy-Fair to 21-8 overall and 16-0 in district play.
Cy-Fair will next visit Cypress Springs on Thursday at noon.
The loss drops Jersey Village to 16-11 overall and 11-5 in district play.
"We made too many defensive errors," said Jersey Village Head Coach Bruce Beets. "You cannot do that against a team like Cy-Fair. We now go into our final game against Cy-Falls in a must-win situation."
Pitcher Lauren Rodriguez took the loss for the Falcons.
Jersey Village will next host Cypress Falls on Thursday at 6 p.m.
