Two Eagle Scouts recognized in Cy-Fair
Cousins Cody Jones and Alex Harper were recently honored as Eagle Scouts, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America program.
Cousins Alex Harper and Cody Jones were recently recognized in an Eagle Scout ceremony at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
Harper’s Eagle Scout project involved creating a seating and garden area for Jersey Village Baptist Church. The project was reviewed and approved by facilities director Paul Guerra. The project was performed solely through donated items and volunteer work.
Jones’ Eagle Scout project was a food drive for the Mission of Yahweh, a homeless and battered women’s and children’s shelter in the Spring Branch area of Houston. The project involved gathering donated items from several H-E-B and Kroger stores. More than 400 bags of goods were collected around four neighborhoods. H-E-B contributed a monetary donation as well.
Jones accumulated more than 1,100 food items that were dropped off at the mission in time for Christmas dinners. It took two trucks and three boys to drop off and unload the food at the mission and fill the pantry.
