Cypress T.J. Maxx named in slip-and-fall suit
A woman is suing after, she says, she suffered serious injuries while shopping at a T.J. Maxx store in Cypress.
Beatriz Chilton filed a lawsuit on May 2 in the Harris County District Court against Marmaxx Operating Corp., doing business as T.J. Maxx, and Hansco Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, alleging negligence.
Chilton says that on May 22, 2010, she broke her right knee while shopping at the T.J. Maxx store, located at 25891 Highway 290 in Cypress. According to the brief, Chilton was in the store shopping when she stepped into clear water, which was invisible on the highly polished floor, causing her to fall directly down onto her right knee.
Chilton is seeking all damages to which she is entitled and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Sugar Land attorney Joe House.
