Cy-Fair manufacturer sues Aldine, Spring transport companies over alleged damaged equipment

A Cy-Fair manufacturer specializing in complex electronic components is suing transport companies in Spring and Aldine over allegations that equipment damaged in transit will not be covered by insurance.

South Coast Technology Inc., of Cy-Fair, filed a lawsuit on May 4 in the Harris County District Court against Spring’s Dixie Freight Systems, Aldine company N/J International and others, citing violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, negligence, breach of contract and fraud.

South Coast Technology says it hired the defendants to transport an electric housing unit it manufactured to a customer in Pennsylvania, but the defendants arranged for East Coast Specialized Hauling to do the job. According to the brief, East Coast damaged the plaintiff’s product while delivering it to Pennsylvania but insurance will not cover these losses.

The plaintiff is seeking all damages to which it is entitled, as well as attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Andreas Jones.
